Location

A location is a physical place where something can be stored. It may be a barn, warehouse, an outdoor concrete or gravel pad, parking area, or even a specific bin in a specific zone, aisle, and row of a building.

Key Fields:

  • Short Code: just a code. For example, B1B2 may mean "Barn 1 Bay 2". The code must be unique.

  • Description: A longer description, but try to keep it short and unique.

  • Owner: the owner of the location. This is typically the default company, but could also be a leased space.

  • Address, Lat/Long: a physical address of the location.

  • Work Zone: important! this makes it easier to group your inventory reports. For example, "Ellensburg" vs. "Kittitas".
