This feature allows you to import data from a csv file. You can edit these files in Excel.
Step 1 - choose the type of data you want to import: Parties, Items, Shipments, or Cargo.
Step 2 - download a blank CSV file and save it on your computer where you can go get it.
Step 3 - edit the file directly in Excel
Step 4 - select the file (the top of the screen below) and clikc Continue to review.
Step 5 - read the screens carefully. It will identify data that it cannot load. Fix the errors and try again.
Step 6 - even when importing, failures may still happen. Save those and try again.
You can typically export data from QuickBooks or other accounting software. Copy and paste data into the CSV file that you edit here.
Shipper does not edit existing data with imported data even if there is an exact match on the name of the company or person.
The data in the grids that you review is not the raw data and only contains the Party or Item record, not address information and other ancillary information.
For Shipments, the Shipment Number is required and must be unique
For Cargo, Cargo Number is required. This can be a ticket number or other unique identifier.
For SKUs, if provided they will be created but they will not be linked to a supplier
Scale Tickets are created using pounds by default. Contact us if this is a problem.
Item Codes are only added if they do not already exist. Once they exist, you need to edit them in ShipperXL.
Unit Types must already exist
Inventory Units are positive or negative. "-5" withdraws 5 units. "+5" adds 5 units.
